Was hoping it would work better
Purchased a 421 in hopes of giving my lungs a break. I'd heard that vaporizers hit harder using less herb, but my experience has been the opposite. I find I need to use more than twice as much dry herb when I vape compared to smoking through a bong, and I don't get as strong results vaping. Not sure why, it's easy to use and straight forward. Maybe I need a better one?

I use it once in a great while. When I have forgotten how much I hated the last session with this horrible little device, I will use it again. If you want to waste time waiting for your herb to come up to temperature so it actually has some value. I suggest tiny amounts of product because the air flow is minimal. I find it difficult to draw from the device and I have it set to the maximum volume of air. I suggest setting it to 190c for the best overall benefit. For maximum efficiency however you will want to start at the lowest temperature possible and work your way up set it. The higher the temperature the more damage it does to your lungs. Elevated temperatures also kill many of the herb’s medicinal terpenoids. This isn’t the vape to get the maximum benefit from your herb. Lookup only vaporizer to be labeled as a medical device in Europe. It’s the best vaporizer made and it is well worth the investment to purchase one from an online retailer. I made -$150 less than the asking price for mine and it is absolutely amazing. I may try the 722 or the one that advises low draw resistance.

It's good but not top of the bunch
I've been using this vaporiser for the past 3 months and it's not been ideal. The draw and taste is good, the ease of use good, cleaning is easy and charging straightforward. I clean the unit using isopropyl alchol diluted slightly with water. After 2 months of very light use, the power button stopped responding and the unit would not turn on despite charging it fully. Could it be that I previously charged it directly from the mains hoping it would charge quicker using an adaptor plug? Eventually the unit turned on but the temperature setting would continue to move up from lowest setting and then after hitting the highest temperature it would run through the cycle again never stabilising..making the vape unusable. I thought it would mean having to spend more money and order a new unit but after a couple of days the vaporiser miraculously started working again. All I can put it down to is perhaps it was too much plugging it directly into thd mains to charge via a plug adapter on the USB cable. Other than that, maybe some moister got into the unit when I cleaned with an isopropyl alcohol soaked cotten bud...who knows?

I bought the 421 and I really like it. This unit is solid. Feels nice to the touch, doesn't feel nor look cheap. 5 heat settings, airflow adjustment are awesome. Either grind your product or put it in small pieces and make sure to compact it down a bit. You get screens, alcohol cleaning tips that look like qtips. To use those you have to break the blue end, the alcohol will fill the tool making cleaning the unit a breeze. The draw depends on heat setting and airflow, charge time from a dead battery is one hour. The unit shuts off by itself after 7 minutes. Just press the button for it to stay on longer if you need a longer session. The cleaning tool is handy. Would have been nice to have ut integrated into the unit. I can see it getting lost easily. Great value for the money overall.

The 421 is ok for a first timer other than they should be half of the price like most of the other vaporizers out there, especially since they do not have a removable battery and are basically disposable like a Bic lighter because of it.
I see a lot of talk about having to stir the bowl between draws which is not necessary if you pack it semi tight and then shove a toothpick down through the center of the bowl creating a better air path.
My next one will be a convection if they ever start selling them for a reasonable price that's affordable for all. We aren't all rich and able to squander money on these overpriced mostly plastic, disposable items!

This is my first vaporizer but I have tried some more expensive vaporizers from friends. The 421 is better than all of them. For under$100, you get 6 preset temp settings, airflow control, ceramic oven and glass mouthpiece. All of the more expensive ones I've tried didn't have airflow control. I vape my herbs @ 200°C then increase it to 230 for the last couple of draws.

Purchased unit online at OCS. Less than 10 days after delivery the unit stops functioning showing a "fault" message on screen moments after turning it on. Now I have to go through the whole warranty BS since OCS is a terrible store that doesn't refund defective products.

Though it costs a little less than other vapes it is a lot slower on heat up, charges slowly and clearly the quality control is lacking. Overall this product promised to be a great deal but only ended up being a pain in the rear.
My advice is: a) do not buy this from OCS, and b) pay a little extra for a better quality product from another company.

Good unit for casual/beginner vaping
I've been using this unit for over a year (it's my first device) and I can say I've been mostly satisfied with it. The build is solid, and the operation is pretty efficient (reaches desired temp in under a couple of minutes). I use it once or twice a week (personal use) and for that frequency, I think this unit is great. I get about 3-4 sessions in a charge, depending on my pace. Charging takes a few hours, so plan ahead. The Chamber size is good for personal use. My only issue with the device is the uneven cooking of the herb. The herb near the top of the chamber is less cooked than the stuff near the walls and towards the bottom. This leaves me having to sort through my herb after a session to reuse what didn't fully cook. I think this may be because of the heating method, not the unit itself. I would recommend it for beginner/budget users.

My review would have been all 5 stars except for an issue that came up while cleaning. I owned the product for around 2 months and while following the video on how to clean it the glass cylinder of the mouthpiece separated from the metal base. It seems it might not have been glued properly.
Manufacturing issues happen, so I contacted TVAPE. After some back and forth I was told 'I'm sorry that your mouthpiece would not be covered under our warranty policy', so I guess the "1 Year Hassle-Free Warranty" doesn't cover physical manufacturing defects. The Utillian leaflet/manual that comes with it also mentions a warranty but it's 'on all electronic components'.
As I said, it otherwise seems like a great product. I ordered some plastic 510 drip tips to replace faulty glass one and they fit fine and work. At this point though, based on lack of warranty, I'd be hesitant to recommend either Utillian or TVAPE.

The UTILLIAN 421 is one of my favorite devices, I have two 420s and love them. The higher temp and the air flow on the 421 is a vast improvement. Nice clouds of vapor that has a good flavor. I usually will get two sessions out of a load. Topping off with fresh material is recommended and keep the screen clean. The screen may look clear, but when you pull it out and feel it, it is dirty. With a clean screen (I keep two clean screens handy and change after three sessions) this device rocks!

This is my third vaporizer and this is a great unit the size is discrete and perfect to carry around. It preforms great quick charge and last for 6 or 7 cycles. The chamber holds a decent amount and is pretty easy to clean. As with any vaporizer, routine cleaning is a must! After experimenting with different grinds, I have determined that a medium-course grind works best. Pack the chamber lightly about 2/3 full for best results.

I Just upgraded to Utillian 421 from my Utillian 420 a week ago. I really like the compact design of it which looks cool and also fits nicely in my hands. I've had several "budget" vaporizers, and this goes well above and beyond. I can actually taste the goodness of my favourite herbs and if you take a few tastes while it's warming up there's even an extra bonus. You can vary airflow and temperature to get it the way you want. It's important to clean this unit for a clean vape, and pay special attention to the mesh as gunk tends to accumulate there. It helps not to pack it right up top the top of the chamber. I also find the charge lasts about right. Enjoy!

Excellent vape, could use a few improvements
Just got it today, so don't know about endurance, but it has the features I wanted. 6 temp settings are plenty, heating chamber works well, and threaded mouthpiece components are well designed. Much bulkier than I expected, though - I'd trade more frequent charging for a slimmer, more pocket-friendly shape. It also needs a compact case for the unit and accessories, but the company doesn't provide one.
My other favorite is an early Airvape, for which you can get a case, and it's much more compact. But it has tiny, fussy little mouthpiece parts mounted poorly in soft silicone, that constantly get lost. Airvape has somewhat better temp controls. Both produce reliable good vape, and are simple to use. I think the Utilian digital display is better, bright enough to see in daylight.

The only issue I have is the screen gets plugged with ground or smaller bits of flower. maybe I am using it wrong, but I have to open it, remove the stuck bits and then continue. We actually have 2 of these and were quite happy with them until the mouthpiece on one fell apart after 3 months. Apparently they are not covered under the warranty and they won't do anything to help. So, if you do get one, by a second mouthpiece when you order so you don't have to pay shipping on it.
